Wingtips Restaurant - this is on the public side of the airport, so that it is accessible to people travelling in the Schengen area (terminal C) and the rest of Europe/World (terminal B)

European Commission - 105 Ave de Nerviens.

Take the metro line A, direction Stockel/Herman-Debroux to station Merode. Exit for the park, and facing the arch, walk along the left hand (southern side of the park). After 5 to 8 mins, about half way along the park, you will find the EC building 105 Ave de Nerviens on the opposite side of the road.

The metro runs around every 5 mins or less during peak hours, 5-10 mins during the day, and 10 mins in the evenings. The timetable is not reliable at peak times - trains bunch up, and problems can stall the whole system. Cost is BF55, or a better deal, if you are traveling again is to buy a multiple ticket - a 10 journey ticket is BF330 (€8). Tickets have to be validated when you enter, and as Brussels has an integrated transport system (apart from the main railway and the Lijn buses), you can switch between bus, tram and metro on the same ticket. Once validated, the ticket is good for one hour, but must be revalidated when entering again (the machine will display "correspondence/overstappen" and not debit another journey). A multiple ticket can also be used for several persons travelling together - for three people, simply insert the card three times - on each time, it will indicate the number of people - 2 personnen, 3 personnen etc.

Buying tickets is more difficult - most metro stations have a machine, and the ticket office itself is only manned until 09.00am and from 16.00 to 18.00, apart from major stations like Gare Centrale.

The sequence of stations, from west to east, is:

Ste.Catherine - De Brouckere - Gare Centrale (interchange with Airport train) - Parc - Arts/Loi - Maalbeek - Schumann - Merode
